THIMUN 2025

In keeping with tradition, our school once again participated in The Hague International Model United Nations (Thimun), whose 2025 theme is “The impact of AI on humanity”. Our delegates had the unique opportunity to forge alliances, discuss pressing issues that impact the global community and come up with viable solutions. Above all, they connected with their peers from diverse backgrounds and formed lasting friendships.

Beyond the conference, our students are also taking time to explore the rich history and culture of the Netherlands. After the sessions, they visited Peace Palace, home to the International Court of Justice, strolled around the medieval town of Delft, renowned for its iconic Delftware; the hand-painted blue-and-white pottery. They also explored the Old Church (Oude Kerk), the final resting place of the Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, and admired "The Blue Heart" (Het Blauwe Hart), a striking glass and steel sculpture

At MUNUC 37, this is no exception. Delegates were asked to tackle the world's most pressing problems, simulating debate that continues to happen at the United Nations. They were asked to form governments, write constitutions, and most importantly-reach across the aisle and work with people that they may not agree with. The skills of negotiation, compromise, and communication are skills that we know that delegates took far beyond the four days that this conference spanned.

We are proud of you!

Our School's students were proud to participate in the 27th edition of the HMUN.

The theme of this year's Conference was "Shaping our Future: Innovating Systems to meet a changing reality".

The setting was ideal; Haarlem is a beautiful city which blends history and modernity. It won the prestigious award of the Rising Innovative City 2022 by the European Innovative Council.

At the Stedelijk Gymnasium, established in 1389, our students, passionate about dialogue, diplomacy and mutual understanding, engaged in fruitful debates.
